Hannha, why? Why, why, why? I need loads of answer here! Why kill yourself? I know, i know, those 12 people but...those 12 people may have ruined your life but now they must feel SO guilty. And, why waste one life and 12 others? Why did you send the tapess? Its okay to take your own life away, thats your responsibility but by sending those tapes I bet a lot of those 12 people are probably considering suicide themselves because of guilt...I just dont see why you couldnt have forgot about the tapes? And one more Why for you, why is Clay on the tapes? In the book, I didnt really understand. He could've helped you if you just told him what was wrong! He could've saved you! But, you chose to keep it a secret! Poor Clay! I know this isnt real and everything but I need an answer. I need three 'this is why' s. Please.

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem... I hope she knew that....

Clay is on the tapes as a symbol,,, Do not believe rumors other people spread... He was always afraid to talk to Hannah due to rumors he heard. BY the time he was ready to really talk to her, in her mind it was too late, That is why at the end of the book, he talked to Sky. He didn't want to keep his distance from another person who may really need him

i am still reading the book, but i think for what i am reading now i think hannah it's been really cruel to herself and to all the people she sent those tapes to. because they don't have to feel guilty of everything cause it's not fair the now that she is dead..

to Anonymous (the one who said Hannah was cruel),
I get what you mean but they should feel guilty because they ruined her life.
trust us (those who have suffered like/similar to Hannah) when we say that it's not easy to erase memories like those.

Oh it only took me two hours to read this book because I couldn't stop but aside from leaving feeling upset from Hannah's death it gave me hope for Clay and Skye and it made me more aware of what happans to people. This book made me more aware of the people around me, less depressed about my problems and it made me want to be something special. Thank you so much.

If she didn't send out those tapes..there would be no book. So stop complaining. :o

I just finished the book and consequences will never be the same for me again... Treating people with absolute respect no matter what is my new goal...

Hannah, I'm not going to ask you why. I won't say you're stupid for killing yourself because God knows sometimes it gets so dark and the air feels that shallow that it just doesn't seem possible to go on. I can't begin to imagine the agony you had to go through. It's heartbreaking but it wasn't stopped. I feel sad knowing that you're gone and knowing some of the people you left behind but that isn't your fault. I know how it feels when it seems you have no other options. I know you weren't selfish just for feeling so empty. You shouldn't be to blame for your suicide. It should be them. People can only take so much before they break. You were not weak. Weak is not a word I think I could ever use to describe someone like you. It's not your fault that they made you hurt so much and for so long that you started feeling numb instead. I wish you could have been okay, but you weren't. I can't help you. None of us can. Before, there were so many things we could do but it's only now, sitting here that we're figuring this stuff out. Clay didn't hate you, Hannah. Anyone who hated you didn't know what they were talking about. You're genius.

Everytime I read this book i got chills now hearing the tape it have made it creepy i know it is all just fiction but maybe just maybe Is it possible there was an hannah baker who killed herself who recorded this tapes before she died and sent out but the cycle didn't continued so as a back up plan she had told her one of her friend from his old neighborhood that to release if this happens and it was the author of the book
