I know who it is reading the tapes - it's the girl from JUNO!

Anonymous said...

No way Juno girl sounds totally different. Sounds like Dawn from Buffy to me.

Anonymous said...

Sounds like Haylie Duff

I think it sounds like Lindsey Lohan.

So was the book based on a true story or is this blog just "recreating" it?

Anonymous said...

so is this a true story or what?

Anonymous said...

it sounds like that girl from degrassi, you know, Spinner's girlfriend. By the way, what is the book called?

Are you guys really trying to figure out who's voice it is?
Does any of this even phase you?
People die daily from the stupid stunts people pull and all you care about is whose voice it is?
God the nerve of you people

I loved this book and the tapes but I wish the blog owner would put all of them up and in order.

its amazing how oblivious some people are, and you guys should all realize that it doesnt matter who is the recording of, or ifits real or not, because in a way, it is real, it does happen, people do commit suicide, and people do it because of other people.

It's ovise who it is talking, and putting the tapes up.The person talking is Hannah Baker,The person putting the tapes up is her friend, and yes there is a book and the book is based on the story of Hannah Bakers suicide.

Anonymous said...

i kno she commited suiside but how did she do it. And who did she send these tapes to.

Anonymous said...

the book is amazing,
and my favorite book
and if you want to know what its about.
read it.

Anonymous said...

are u serious?! we know that people commit suicide and it is important but don't try to tell us off just because we want to figure out who's talking!

The book is not based off a true story from what i have figured out. Jay asher said that the book's idea came from an audio tour he took in a museum. he liked how the voice he was listening to was telling him stuff but not really there. If you can prove me wrong than go ahead, i'd really like to know if it is true but so far i don't think it is.

I have searched and found nothing to support this in both her (Ellen's) IMDB profile or on her web pages. While the voice sounds somewhat like hers, I do not believe it is.

I guess that I need to read this book, I will definitely! I think that I will review it. I love finding new books to read. These tapes are really inspirational. I looked at the site, and I knew I wanted to read it. She so has something to say.

The voice in the videos sound like Charlotte Arnold, Holly J, from Degrassi.

Which would make sense, seeing as I first heard the video from the-n.com. I wonder if they plan on making a movie from it.

Anonymous said...

Yes!
Holly J!
I couldn't put my finger on it but that's who it is!

Lilium said...

I figured it out when she said her name. It just sounds like when she says Holly. Though I did a search and 13RW doesn't show up on Charlotte's resume.

Odd

I am nearly certain that the voice of Hannah is Gabrielle Christian, Spencer from South of Nowhere.

This audio starts on p. 74 of the book

Anonymous said...

No, the voice is Olivia Thirlby, who plays Juno's friend in "Juno." Look it up and get your facts straight.

It's called 13 Reasons Why. It's supposed to be a very good book and it's changed a lot of people. I want to read the book but I read the summary of it. It's very sad. I cried a lot from reading about Clay and Hannah's relationship. They were in love with each other, or Hannah was in love with him and he had a crush on her. It's confusing. He fell in love with her while listening to the tapes. I just want to say that they were in love with each other. Their last moment together was upsetting. They bumped into each other and said I'm sorry. He could tell she was upset and they were both looking at each other in the eyes. And he watched her as she walked away from him forever. Clay knew Hannah loved him, but he could never tell her that he loved her. I recommend it and sorry if I spoiled anything.

Anonymous said...

I swear, nowhere has both sides of the tape, it practically skips the rape part, and the whole of Clay's story.

I agree with Hannah. This one is particularly creepy.

Is this the real Hannah Baker's voice???
